My Story
My love of painting began at an early age. Reading and "Colouring in Books" were my childhood passions. My head was always in a book and my hands were always holding a crayon or a colouring pencil.
In my teenage years at College I completed 4 years of Art as a chosen subject.
Skip through 20 years of employment career and raising a family with very little time for art - but I did enjoy taking some night classes from time to time [ these included floral design, pottery and needlework/sewing ]
In my forties I made "time for me" deciding to pick up a paintbrush and also explore creative ideas I had longed to do for many years.
Loving colour and Interior Design, I enrolled in the 2 year Nanette Cameron Interior Design School and in 2008 I graduated , having gained my qualification as an interior designer.
I set up my own company "City House Interiors" on Auckland's North Shore. I mainly specialised as a colour consultant and staging of furniture for show homes and house sales.
In 2011 my husband and I decided on a change of lifestyle and moved to Kinloch on the shores of Lake Taupo. We built an art studio next to the house and at last I had a dedicated place to paint.
For the last 10 years I have been in my happy place, painting mainly in a abstract/semi abstract contemporary style.
I now have my own small gallery/shop on our property as well as my painting studio.
In March 2019 I was filmed and featured in a 30 minute worldwide programme called "Colour in Your Life" which shows on YouTube and many TV Art channels globally.

I still continue my learning process. New techniques, colour mixing, glazing, layering and so much more, all come into the creation of a new painting.
The journey continues.
